Note
BetterHelp publishes a price of $90 to $120 AUD a week for Australia, billed weekly or monthly, which is roughly $360 to $480 over four weeks. InnerHub charges $59.90 AUD per 50-minute video session with no subscription, so four weekly sessions come to $239.60. Prices as at 6 October 2026, and they change.
You searched for the price because you want to know what you are signing up for before you hand over a card number. That is a sensible thing to check. Subscriptions are easy to start and easy to forget about.
This page sets out what BetterHelp publishes for Australia, how the billing works, and how that compares with paying one session at a time. We run InnerHub, so we are not a neutral party. We have stuck to what BetterHelp says on its own site and to simple arithmetic you can check.
How much does BetterHelp cost in Australia?
BetterHelp says its Australian subscription costs between $90 and $120 AUD per week. Billing is weekly or monthly, and over four weeks that is roughly $360 to $480.
The price is not a single fixed number. BetterHelp says it depends on your location, your preferences, therapist availability and any promotions that apply. You usually see your actual figure only after you answer its questionnaire. Check betterhelp.com for the current price before you commit.
What is included in the subscription?
BetterHelp's subscription bundles a few things together. According to its Australian pricing page, you get one live session a week, which you can take by video, audio or chat. You can also message your therapist in the app between sessions, and they reply when they can. Optional tools such as journaling and worksheets are included too.
If constant access to messaging is what you want, that bundle is the point of the product. If you mainly want one proper conversation a week, you are paying for a subscription whose extras you may not use. Our BetterHelp comparison goes through where each model suits different people.
Is BetterHelp covered by Medicare?
No. BetterHelp states that it is not covered by Australian Medicare or private health insurance, so the whole fee comes out of your pocket.
The same is true of InnerHub. InnerHub practitioners are experienced and qualified in their own countries. They are not AHPRA-registered, so InnerHub sessions sit outside Medicare and there is no rebate and no referral. Services Australia explains how Medicare mental health rebates work, and our guide to sessions outside Medicare covers what that means for your costs.
How does the billing work, and how do you cancel?
BetterHelp is a subscription, so you are charged on a repeating cycle until you stop it. Its own pages say you can cancel at any time, and that you need to cancel actively. Nothing ends on its own.
Before you sign up, it is worth finding out where the cancel button is, and which billing day is next. That is a good habit with any subscription.
How does InnerHub compare on price?
InnerHub is $59.90 AUD per 50-minute video session. There is no subscription and no referral. You book a session when you want one, and you pay for that session only.
Here is the arithmetic for four weekly sessions:
| Per week | Four weeks | |
|---|---|---|
| BetterHelp (published range) | $90 to $120 | $360 to $480 |
| InnerHub | $59.90 | $239.60 |
The difference is not only the number. A subscription charges you each cycle whether or not you had a conversation that week. Paying per session means a quiet fortnight costs nothing. On the other hand, InnerHub does not offer round-the-clock messaging between sessions, and you should weigh that honestly.

Find a therapistWhat else should you weigh up besides price?
Price is one thing to compare. A few others matter at least as much:
- Who your practitioner is. Look at their qualifications, where they trained and how long they have practised. Every InnerHub profile shows the degree, the country it came from and years of practice before you book.
- How easily you can change. If the first match does not feel right, you should be able to switch without paying extra. On InnerHub, changing practitioner costs nothing.
- How you want to talk. Some people like text between sessions. Others prefer one proper video hour and then to get on with their week.
- Privacy. Read how each service handles your data and advertising before you share anything personal.
