What this is
Online therapy, in real life
Online therapy has quietly become the way a huge share of Australians talk to someone: no travel, no waiting room, no geographic lottery deciding which practitioners you can access. For rural and regional Australians especially, it is often the difference between support this week and support never.
InnerHub is online-only on purpose. Sessions run on secure video inside our own platform, your practitioner options are national rather than suburban, and the price stays flat because no one is paying for consulting rooms.

Sound familiar?
How it tends to show up
- You live outside the metro practitioner bubble
- Your work or caring schedule eats business hours
- Leaving the house for hard conversations is its own barrier
- You want a wider choice of practitioner than your postcode offers
- Privacy matters: no waiting rooms, no local grapevine
- You simply prefer talking from your own couch
How therapy helps
What the work actually looks like
Video sessions hold up: for most therapy, research and practice have found online delivery comparably effective to in-person. What changes is access:
- Evenings and varied time zones instead of nine-to-five slots
- The whole national practitioner pool instead of your suburb's
- Sessions from home, the car at lunch, or wherever is private
- Continuity when you travel, move, or life reshuffles
Fair questions
Asked before booking
Is online as good as sitting in a room?
For most therapy, yes: outcomes track closely with in-person. What matters most is the fit with your practitioner, which is why we match carefully and make changing easy. If in-person is what you need, we say so honestly: we are not it.
What do I need to join a session?
A phone, tablet or computer with a camera, a stable connection, and a private spot for 50 minutes. Sessions run in the browser inside your InnerHub account: nothing to install.
Is the video secure?
Sessions run inside our own encrypted platform, not on third-party video links, and your information is handled as sensitive health information under Australian privacy law. The detail is on our security and standards pages.
Therapy is support, not clinical treatment: our practitioners do not diagnose or prescribe, and when what you need sits beyond therapy, their job is to say so and point you to it. Who they are and how we hold them to that is on Our Standards, and if you need urgent help right now, the numbers on crisis support are free and answer around the clock.
