Exactly who our practitioners are, stated plainly
Every practitioner on InnerHub is a trained professional with a university degree in psychology or counselling, and many hold a masters or postgraduate qualification on top of that. Alongside the formal training, they bring years of real experience supporting people through exactly the things our clients come to us with. We review practitioners' core qualifications, professional memberships and insurance as part of our onboarding before they see a client.
In Australia, AHPRA registers specific protected professions, like psychologists and medical practitioners. InnerHub practitioners are not AHPRA-registered: they are trained and qualified in their own countries instead, they do not use protected titles, and we will never describe them in a way that implies Australian registration.
Every profile on InnerHub states, plainly and specifically, what that person holds: the degree, the institution, the country it was issued in, their years of practice, their languages, and the areas they work in. You see exactly who you are talking to before you pay a cent.
What the words mean
Qualifications, country by country
A psychology degree from a Brazilian university is a real degree: typically five years of full-time clinical study. What it is not is an Australian registration, and the title that goes with it in Brazil cannot be used here. So we do not use it. On InnerHub, every practitioner appears under the plain title of therapist, with their actual credentials written out underneath, so the substance is visible and the labels stay accurate.
The same reading applies to every credential you will see on a profile. A degree in psychology or counselling is usually four to five years of full-time study, often with supervised clinical placement built in. A masters or postgraduate diploma is specialised training on top of that first degree. Where a practitioner holds membership of a professional body in their home country, the profile names the body. If a credential is not listed on a profile, the practitioner does not hold it.
Conduct and accountability
The rules our practitioners work under
Providing therapy to people in Australia comes with real obligations, wherever the practitioner sits. Practitioners on InnerHub agree, as a condition of being on the platform, to work within the NSW Code of Conduct for unregistered health practitioners and its equivalents in other states, which set enforceable rules for safe and ethical practice:
- Provide services safely, ethically, and only within their training and experience
- Refer you onward, including to a medical practitioner, when what you need sits outside their scope
- Never claim to cure conditions, never exploit trust financially, and advertise only honestly

Limits
What InnerHub is not
- Not a clinical or medical service: our practitioners do not diagnose conditions and do not prescribe medication
- Not a crisis service: if you are in immediate danger call 000, or Lifeline on 13 11 14, any time. More numbers on crisis support
- Not a substitute for emergency or specialist care: when that is what you need, our practitioners' job is to say so and point you to it
- Not for under-18s: InnerHub is for adults
