What this is
Stress and burnout, in real life
Burnout rarely announces itself. It accumulates: a few brutal quarters, a caring load at home, a phone that ended office hours, and one day you notice the tank is not refilling on weekends anymore. You are functioning, technically. But the colour has drained out, the fuse is short, and rest stopped working.
Stress therapy is a regular space to look at what is draining you, what restores you, and what needs renegotiating so the week becomes sustainable again.

Sound familiar?
How it tends to show up
- Sunday dread that starts on Saturday afternoon
- Exhaustion that sleep does not fix
- Cynicism creeping into work you used to care about
- Snappishness at home you do not recognise as you
- Concentration and memory getting unreliable
- Coping habits quietly scaling: wine, doomscrolling, overwork
How therapy helps
What the work actually looks like
With a practitioner experienced in stress and overload, the work is both immediate and structural:
- Triage: recovering functional energy before anything else
- Mapping the actual drains, including the ones you call normal
- Boundary work at the source: workload, availability, the invisible jobs
- Rebuilding the parts of life that refill you, on purpose
Fair questions
Asked before booking
Is burnout a medical condition?
Burnout is recognised as an occupational phenomenon rather than a medical diagnosis. If what you are experiencing needs medical care, your practitioner will say so and point you to a doctor: that honesty is part of our standards.
I do not have time for weekly sessions. Ironic, I know.
Fortnightly works, evenings work, and pay-per-session means a brutal fortnight can skip without penalty. The structure bends around the exact problem that brought you here.
Can I claim this through work?
InnerHub sits outside EAP and insurance systems, so sessions are personal purchases. At $59.90 flat, most people find it comparable to what a single gap fee used to cost them.
Therapy is support, not clinical treatment: our practitioners do not diagnose or prescribe, and when what you need sits beyond therapy, their job is to say so and point you to it. Who they are and how we hold them to that is on Our Standards, and if you need urgent help right now, the numbers on crisis support are free and answer around the clock.
